After dedicating the night to the late great Exploding Hearts, Thee Curses opened up the show for The Briefs (a truly fun band) and The Feederz. All the local punks came out for the show and had a good ol' time!
Thee Curses will be playing in Tacoma on Tuesday July 29th , opening up for oldy punks D.I. Get there early so you can see the best (unknown) new band in seattle!

Upon further communication with Blake (eMpTy records) and Chris from The Curses (Boston) I have decided that we will have to share or find another name (any suggestions?) You cannot copyright a bandname and usage only counts in certain territories. There can be a The Curses in Seattle and in Boston both because they are in different parts of the country. If one was to get a major deal with national distro and follow through with a national tour they could take the ownership of the name. Blake was right ! It is a sticky situation. There really is nothing else to do but just go on. Thee Curses have alot of great shows coming up (some still in the works). I will annouce them as they get confirmed!

After contacting THE CURSES from Boston (very nice guys by the way) and Blake from eMpTy records we have agreed to share the name for now. We will be THEE CURSES. We are checking on copyrights however and since our record was out first I think we may be able to keep the name. I don't mind sharing so much as I don't want to cause confusion to the people interested in us. What if yout local record store had two bins, one that said THE CURSES and one that read THEE CURSES? Which one would you choose? Would you know? Is it that big of a deal? ..................I don't know!

Were waiting to hear back from The Curses from Boston. Empty records e-mailed back but didn't have much to say besides "the record is already in the
works" and "seems like a real "sticky" situation" or something to that effect.
Go to the empty records website and leave them an e-mail then go to thecurses.com and leave them an e-mail also. I don't know if it will do any good, but it would be nice if they knew that there are some of our fans out there. People are wearing our T-shirts listening to our 45's and demo cd and every show we play gets bigger and crazier. Too much has been put into this project to simply let it go!

The latest issue of THE SEATTLE SINNER came out this week and guess who's happened to appear in the LOCAL DISTORTION section? THEE FABULOUS CURSES formerly known as THE CURSES. A picture of the band as well as a very nice display of THE CURSES LOGO modeled by the beautiful LAURA ROSE!

Seriously, our plan was to leave at 12:00am but the strength and sheer power of THE CURSES brought to the stage was so powerful we found ourselves unable to leave before the end of their set"

There seems to be another band out there called THE CURSES and local Seattle/Portland label Empty Records will be releasing their record next month. What the F*ck! We will be known as of now to be THEE CURSES
The record release party last night was a complete success despite the bad news.
80 people packed into THE MONKEY. Only 12 paid to get in but there was enough money to get the Chix--Pack some gas money for their trip home. The show was crazy, people falling all over the place. Rock'n'roll the way it's supposed be. Yeah,then we all partied till dawn and it was fun,fun,fun! Check out Thee Fabulous Curses opening up for D.I. @ Hell's Kitchen in Tacoma July 29th The Undertakers f*cking ruled ! A truly great MISFITS cover/tribute band!
